Today, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 series has been officially released in China. This includes two devices, the ROG Phone 7 and the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.

The ROG 7 series continues with its very personalized look which this time takes on a softer design with beveled edges and will be available in two colors for the standard version: Shadow Black and Phantom WhitAnd. The back shell is divided into translucent and opaque materials, adding a sense of layering. There's also the well-known ASUS eye logo and custom lightbar lighting effects.
THEASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate instead has only one color scheme: Phantom White. The general main color of the body is white. The camera module, fresh air valve and ROG Vision window are black in stark contrast to the rest of the body.
As for ROG Vision, this technology originated in the ROG 5 series. A large number of preset animation effects have been added to the Phone 7 Ultimate, which support customization.
Specifications
As for the specifications, smartphones adopt one AMOLED screen from 6,78 inches with a resolution of 2448×1080, an aspect ratio of 20,4:9 and a pixel density of 394PPI. The screen supports 165 Hz refresh rate, frequency of 720Hz touch sampling and 23ms full-link touch response. The panel also supports 3% P111,23 wide color gamut, ΔE <1 color accuracy, 1000000:1 contrast ratio, and is HDR10+ certified.
The brightness is particularly noteworthy, with a peak value of 1500 nits and a minimum of 5 nits.
The surface is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.5D and a coating to reduce sweat and hand friction. For eye protection, the panel has SGS Eye Care 6,5% and SGS Seamless Pro 120Hz certificates.
Spec-wise, the smartphone is of course powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chip, with LPDDR5X memory e UFS storage 4.0. Its AnTuTu score is over 1,36 million, while on GeekBench 5 it has a score of over 2000 in single-core and 5700 in multi-core.
We then go to the dissipation design which is the top priority of gaming phones. The ROG 7 series features liquid cooling architecture 7.0, which continues the CPU's mid-mount architecture and separates the dual-cell battery on both sides of the CPU for more even heat conduction and increased cooling efficiency. In fact, the heat source can also be kept away from your hands when playing games.
In addition, the VC vacuum vapor chamber was refurbished and a high-velocity return channel was added, and the cylinders at the first and last ends of the return channel were changed to a trident structure, with a radius of 0,7 2,1 mm and an area increased by XNUMX times, thereby accelerating the diffusion of water vapor and the backflow of condensate. Heat dissipation efficiency increased by 168%.
Graphene has also been reshaped, with a 10% increase in area over 16.000 square millimeters and more even heat distribution.
The ROG team also used a unique filler technology to fill the interposer between the motherboard and the RF card with 3300mg of boron nitride cooling material (BN) aerospace grade, which has a thermal conductivity 200 times higher than that of air and can reduce the CPU temperature by about 10°C.
To make matters worse, the ROG 7 Ultimate also has a 7.0 Plus liquid cooling system, which adds a fresh air valve to the rear shell. It is a precision structure made up of more than 50 parts that will open automatically.
The surface of the air valve is made of stainless steel, and the shaft part is formed by liquefied zirconium alloy die casting. The opening and closing life exceeds 40.000 times.
As for the other specs, the series comes with one 6000mAh battery supporting 3.0W PD 65 fast charging protocol.
For photos, the ROG 7 series sees one Sony IMX766 50 megapixel rear main cameraa 13 megapixel ultra wide angle and 5 megapixel macro cameras. The front camera has resolution of 32 megapixels.
ASUS ROG 7 series has a thickness that reaches 10,3 mm, the weight of the standard version is 239 grams, while the Ultimate version has a weight of 246 grams, so it is quite heavy.
Finally, for prices, iROG Phone 7 12GB/256GB will be available on the ASUS official website at the price of 1029 euro, while the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate 16GB/512GB will be available at the price of 1429,00 euro.
