Just yesterday we said that although late, Xiaomi seems to be ready to update all its smartphone stable to Android Oreo. The technicians and developers of the Chinese company are working at a frenetic pace for the release of a Global ROM with MIUI interface and Oreo system that does not incur various bugs or anomalies but above all that the user experience is always at the top. And so after the release of the update for Mi 6 and starting a beta program for Mi Mix 2 and Mi 5, Xiaomi released the first Global Beta ROM on Android Oreo and MIUI 9 for Mi Note 2.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is famous for being the first smartphone of the brand with global LTE bands: released in October 2016 in selected markets, at the time it offered high-end specifications that consist of a chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, 4 / 6 GB of RAM memory accompanied by 64 / 128 GB of storage space. Instead he discussed the display, a Full HD panel from 5,7 inches with AMOLED technology that apparently on some units showed color problems especially in the edge type profiles. The rear camera is a 22,5 megapixel unit while the front one is proposed in 8 megapixel cut, all powered by a battery 4070 mAh. Mi Note 2 debut came equipped with MIUI 8 and Android Marshmallow operating system and only later received an update for MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat.
THE UPDATE DOES NOT APPEAR TO THE COMMON USER BUT ONLY TO THE BETA TESTER
A very important clarification must be made, because it seems that the update has been temporarily suspended even if the links to the ROM download still seem to work (at the time of writing), making it clear that probably the released ROM is not official but intended for beta testers. For this reason we will provide links to the download, but advising against the possible flash of the ROM considering that the change log corresponds to what emerged for the update of Mi 6 and Mi 5. In any case, if you want to try to update the flash, the methods remain those related to Fastboot previous bootloader unlocked, which will delete the internal memory of the phone. Otherwise the flash can be made via Recovery installing the TWRP (always after the bootloader unlocked), so it is advisable to perform a complete wipe before updating.
The ROM has as a version number MIUI 9 Global Beta 8.2.1. The Global Beta nomenclature means that it is a beta ROM, meaning that users should expect the probable presence of various bugs. Personally I advise you to wait as I expect Xiaomi to make an official announcement on the availability of this ROM for Mi Note 2 in the coming days.
