Finally we are here: after the presentation official of the new Xiaomi flagship occurred yesterday in the 紫禁城 ("The Forbidden City"), we think it is a must confrontone between the newborn Mi Mix 3 and his brother Mi Mix 2S, from the software, hardware and price point of view.

Construction and materials
If with Mi Mix 2S we had seen a design (refer , promising for a little more on design) borderless on three sides, now the novelty of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is represented by the sliding mechanism, which hides a revolutionary photographic sector for the brand: in fact it is a dual cam from 24 + 2 megapixel, which we will investigate later.
In this way we have the possibility to use the device for the unlocking through facial recognition and to eliminate the superfluous cornices, especially the inferior one. On both devices, in any case, we find a rear fingerprint reader many loved but as many hated.
In terms of materials, Xiaomi has again chosen to use the ceramic, which guarantees resistance to scratches and wear, even if it is rather fragile. Furthermore, due to the sliding mechanics increased by 29 grams weight and very little la greatness (7 mm about the height and 0.36 mm the thickness).

Display
Both are borderless on three sides but there are some differences between the two displays, starting from the dimensions: the display of the Mi Mix 2S has a report in 18: 9 and a surface of 5.99 ". The new Mi Mix 3 instead has a 6.39 surface "and a report in 19.5: 9, which makes it longer as we have seen before.
The really interesting thing about this Mi Mix 3 is the type panel AMOLED provided by Samsung, which differs from the "old IPS" of the 2S Mi Mix; we remember that the display AMOLED allows you to naturally reproduce black, without having to make use of external factors and this saves battery if you do not use the smartphone a lot. They also change slightly pixel in the longest side, increasing from 2160 to 2340.
In addition to this, as we saw in the first photo leak of the device, the contrast of the images is very high and the colors are more saturated.

Software and Hardware
The chipset provided in both is the same, or lo Qualcomm Snapdragon 845: we find one Kryo 385 octa-core CPU up to 2.8 GHz, and an 630 Adreno GPU up to 710 MHz. The memory compartment is different: the Mi Mix 3 has a minimal cut from 128 GB and is, together with Black Shark Helo the first sparphone to have 10 GB of RAM.
Software side instead, no news. In both models we find the latest MIUI 10, even if the Mi Mix 2S already has the update for Android 9.0 Pie while the Mi Mix 3 exits the factory with mounted on the Android 8.1 (surely an update will arrive before the end of the year).

I know, you were all waiting for this moment. In fact, we give the answer to why this new flagship is third in the standings for DxOMark.
Actually for the main camera, the hardware side remained the same, with one dual rear camera from 12 + 12 megapixel equipped with 2x zoom. The software side has changed (better) thanks to the integration on the 3 Mi Mix night mode.
For the front camera instead we have news: on I mix 2S we had a single sensor placed in the lower right frame, while now the sliding mechanism of Mi Mix 3 allowed the inclusion of a dual selfie camera by 24 + 2 megapixel, where the second as we know, serves for the effect of depth ("bokeh").
What's new in the video field? Yes, with the introduction on Mi Mix 3 of the possibility to register in 4K and 1080p to 60 fps. Furthermore, slow-motion can be filmed a 960 fps.

Battery
Unfortunately there was a decrease of 200 mAh from the Mi Mix 2s, so in the Mi Mix 3 we have a battery from 3200 mAh. But there is no need to be discouraged: we must still see what cards are played byMIUI optimization on this device, which could amaze us. Fortunately, on the side of users, we have the security that the AMOLED screen will save us a little something from the screen.
However, we have a recharge Quick Charge 4 + (refer , promising for a little detail, in the first part of the article), instead of 3.0 in the 2S Mi Mix, which allows a 50% recharge in about 15 minutes. In addition to this we find a support for the wireless charging that increases from 7.5 to 10W.
