Let's go back to talking about the Xiaomi Mi Laptop, a new interesting product expected this year. In the past we have already shown you the alleged technical specifications | Xiaomi Mi Laptop and the alleged technical specifications | but recently we found out why Xiaomi chose Intel as a CPU supplier.
Beyond obviously the quality of Santa Claus's giant processors, Xiaomi's leadership and Intel's leadership have signed a long-term agreement that will tie the two companies in the years to come. Specifically, the benefits for Xiaomi are totally cheap: for each Intel Core ix CPU purchased, Intel will give Xiaomi an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 CPU to be used in Mi Pad 2 and future products.
As for Intel instead, the advantages to ally with Xiaomi mainly concern the success in the mobile sector. In fact, it seems that the management of Intel has torn an agreement for the use, in the future, of their own processors on the Xiaomi smartphones (probably top of the range, given the willingness to also experience the SoC owners). Considering that Xiaomi's sales volume was 70 million units and that will inevitably grow in 2016 and in the years to come, we believe Intel has made a great choice (and of course Xiaomi, as Intel's quality is not discussed).
How do you see this new alliance? You'd love Xiaomi smartphones to quit Qualcomm to adopt Intel chips.
