Xiaomi has recently announced the end of the software update cycle for some of its models launched in 2020. This decision impacts not only global users, but also those in specific regions. But which smartphones of the brand will undergo the EoL (End of Life) period? POCO X3, Xiaomi Mi 10T e Mi 10T Pro are the devices in question.
No updates for Xiaomi Mi 10T, 10T pro and POCO X3
On the official online platform, Xiaomi revealed that four models – POCO X3, Poco X3 NFC, Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro – have reached the end of their update support cycle. These smartphones, widespread in different countries, may have variable update cycles depending on the region. In particular, the support is finished for global releases, Indian and European Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro, as well as the Indian version of the POCO X3 and the Russian version of the POCO X3NFC.

Consequences for users
As support ends, these models will not receive additional operating system and security updates, although they may continue to be used normally. However, this could pose a risk, as Xiaomi will not provide fixes for future vulnerabilities found in both software and hardware.
Despite this, the company stressed that if a serious security vulnerability is discovered, it may still provide the necessary security patches, even if the device is on the list of those without support.
The models POCO X3, POCO X3 NFC, Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro were launched in the second half of 2020, a period in which Xiaomi maintained a policy of three years of Android updates. Over time, the policy has evolved, and the models more recent they now benefit from four upgrades of the operating system and five years of security updates.
