Xiaomi recently launched an in-house protective glass solution, called Dragon Crystal Glass, specifically for its Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone, greater than new series. This glass stands out for being among the hardest and most durable currently available on the market. According to data disclosed by the company itself, the hardness and resistance of Dragon Crystal Glass surpasses that of the Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The characteristics of Dragon Crystal Glass
The Dragon Crystal Glass was launched as the strongest protective glass ever made by Xiaomi, boasting a 5% increase in resistance and 20% increase in fall resistance, compared to Apple's Super Crystal Porcelain Glass. Important thing: Xiaomi 14 Pro is the brand's first smartphone to have a screen developed in-house. In fact, until now, the company has always relied on Corning.
The Dragon Crystal Glass formula consists of a mixture of raw materials, among which lithium oxide, silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide, phosphorus pentoxide and sodium oxide. These materials are subjected to a high temperature treatment, as well 1600°C for 100 hours, leading to the formation of nano-sized crystals (about 25 nanometers in size) within the glass. These crystals create a interlocking structure which significantly increases the resistance of the glass.

Hardness and durability
The Dragon Crystal Glass has a Vickers hardness of 860 HV0.025, surpassing other popular display protection solutions such as Huawei Kunlun Glass 2 (830 HV0.025), Apple Ceramic Shield Glass (814 HV0.025), and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 (670 HV0.025). The company claims that this glass is resistant up to 10 times more falls compared to traditional strengthened glass.
Transparency and image quality
In addition to its durability, Dragon Crystal Glass maintains high transparency, thanks to the very small and uniformly distributed diameter of the internal microcrystalline particles. This ensures that there is no compromise on image quality in the name of durability.
