Differences between Fitbit Versa 4 and Versa 3
Although detailed specifications have not been provided, thehardware is essentially identical if we exclude the implementation of a physical button instead of the tactile one which had not been very successful and actually this solution is more practical. Versa 4, however, is a millimeter thinner and in comfort this is appreciated.
All the sensors remain the same, but from this point of view the Fitbit Versa 3 he was already "well equipped" and probably there wasn't much to improve, especially wanting to keep the gap with the Fitbit Sense which differs precisely in this aspect.
La battery it is the same as the theoretical autonomy. Also in this case one would think that there was no need for an upgrade given themaximum autonomy of 6/7 days , quick charging present in both.
Basically, therefore, the differences that we will notice when switching to the new model are all in the software but in the current state they are not all positive.
Le training modes have doubled, they are now 40 and include virtually any sport in existence. The application menu has also changed and appears as a list that can be recalled from the button instead of icon screens. Other "news" I have not glimpsed.
It certainly remains and they share the excellent automatic sport detection, sleep monitoring (advanced with the premium subscription), heart rate detection at rest but also with personalized alarms.
Obviously there is no lack of notification management which allows you to read the messages in their entirety but above all to reply. With emoticons, predefined replies and even speech to text conversion.
So far all nice, but some things are missing.

Also with the current software version of the app and the SmartWatch,app store is not working and it is not possible to add new third party apps, only watch faces. Also, it was the removal of the function to change the watchface directly from the watch but you have to use theFitbit application.
Finally, touch activation on the display has been removed. It can only be activated by turning the wrist or by pressing the button.

Fitbit Versa 4 vs Versa 3 is a comparison that at present leaves no doubt. The only news are software and they haven't arrived yet. On the contrary, I have found several shortcomings, some of which are also important, which are incomprehensible.
It is possible and probable that with the updates the situation will settle, but for now the gap between the two models is zero or even in favor of the Versa 3 which remains one of the few smartwatches that offers response to notifications, calls on the wrist, voice assistant, NFC payments without the need for the bulky Google WearOS.

For who already owns the Fitbit Versa 3 It makes no sense to think about an upgrade, while for those who are looking at this product for the first time or who own the Versa 2, they can evaluate the purchase while waiting for a substantial update to fill the gaps.
