A new prediction from the research firm Counterpoint Research states that the foldable smartphone shipments will triple this year compared to last year to about 9 million units. Furthermore, by 2023, the offer of such smartphones could grow 10 times. Counterpoint Research adds that Samsung will dominate with 88% of the market.
There are currently only a handful of companies making such devices, which is why Samsung remains the market leader. The analytics firm, however, believes the South Korean giant will continue to dominate the market even after other brands launch their own foldable devices.

Other smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo, live e Honor, among others, are expected to release their foldable smartphones later this year.
