In general, cameras from 48 and 64 megapixels have become the most used for devices costing between € 250 and € 400, while in flagship smartphones there has been a tendency to increase the sensor size for better images. The most common resolution of such sensors is 50 megapixel.
With regard to front cameras, in the second quarter of 2021, the share of resolutions from 20 megapixel or more remained virtually unchanged from the previous quarter due to a decline in model sales.
Interestingly, in the case of cameras with one lower resolution, you continue to observe one imbalance between supply and demand, as a result of which their price increases. For example, sensors with a resolution of 5 megapixels are increased in price by more than 10% since the beginning of this year.
