With a laconic announced on the official forum, Xiaomi has announced the need to suspend beta updates on many models that will therefore no longer receive the usual ones starting from June 12 MIUI weekly updates Orange Friday, presumably until August.
Topics of this article:
The motivation for this decision is rather vague and seems to derive from the need to focus on optimizing the system and improving the user experience that on some terminals that presumably have fallen behind in development.
This, which will not be a "pause" but rather a "non-public" development will only interest the branches of MIUI related to Beta Development ed Alpha Development. All versions Stable they will see their release regularly and without interruption.
It is the first time that in 5 years Xiaomi decides to close itself in a private development of its ROM, giving us to reflect on how much the expansion of its mobile park is affecting the progress of MIUI. Up to now, albeit with important efforts, it has always managed to guarantee constant and quality updates even on older models (eg Mi2) but the time has perhaps come to reorganize development in a more productive way.
I do not conceal that my first thought, even before reading the statement, went to the MIUI9 whose “closed beta” phase should be almost upon us, yet this is not mentioned among the reasons. However, it cannot be ruled out that among the factors involved there is also the imminent arrival of the new one major release.
We just have to follow the developments and wait for August to see what new stuff is coming.
The original statement
Since the very beginning of 2017, our developers have been putting strenuous efforts on MIUI optimizations. Tor overcome tiredness and fatigue has never been easy, but the battle ahead requires heroes. To ensure a successful outcome, the Development Team will be entering a closed-up phase focusing on improving user experience and system optimization.
As a result of a carefully discussed decision, starting from 12th of June, 2017. Some devices will be suspended from regular Global Beta ROM updates (Global / China Stable ROM will not be affected by this decision). This progress will be lasting for a while. Our most optimistic estimate of this suspension decision will be finalized gradually for each individual device starting in August. Please check the announcement regularly for any updates. Once again, tprocure you for your understanding and pardon. We will bring you a better MIUI for sure.

When you need to publish xiaomi model lists, always leave the Mi Note Pro out, even if you're in official posts
It was a refusal, now correct. Thanks for the tip
Note that they virtually stop updates for devices that do not have Android 7 .. long ago they told me that my 9 mouse would have been for all Android 7 devices, which is either a mega update or the suspension forever of updates for these devices?
Simply as stated in the thread on the official forum development Miui 9's taking a long time, I do not know what criteria they decided to suspend updates for some devices and not others (and mind that the list is different for china and for the global developer)
The statement does not mention the MIUI9 but is logically presumable.
On the lists I did not understand what you meant. Those are officially communicated.
For the lists I meant that the suspended devices change between china and global developer, for example the Redmi 3S continues to receive the Global while the China Developer is suspended.
Do not count on Android 7 on all devices, putting an operating system that is too recent would be more bad than good for outdated hardware and xiaomi is more interested in continuing to keep the user experience of all terminals fluid, even without the latest Android version. So it is more likely that they are developing miui 9 in order to give the same functions (at least most of them) to everyone, without necessarily having to implement Android nougat (which no brand does).
I did your own reflection and I have your own doubts
