The long-awaited day of the presentation of the two new Xiaomi brand flagships has come and just a few moments ago this event officially ended which, in addition to the latter, also saw the new Mi TV 3S and some other gadgets connected to it participate . However, without going too far, let's go immediately to examine the two new ones Sin the Xiaomi home smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi 5S
Starting from the smaller of the two we find a design that turns out to be a mixture between that of the Redmi Pro and that of the Mi 5. Abandoned the glass / ceramic on the back, the Mi 5S has an all-metal body with small polycarbonate bands under which the various antennas are placed. The latter, then, takes up the double lateral curvature of the Mi 5 but improves its aesthetic effect with continuous and rounded lines. Furthermore, the design of the Redmi Pro is taken up with regard to the brushing of the metal and the lateral milling that surrounds the frame around the display. The display has the same dimensions / specifications as that of its predecessor but, in this case, it has switched to a 16 LED backlight (the Mi 5 had 14) with a maximum brightness of 600nit and 2.5D technology has been implemented. (rounded edges).
With regard to the data sheet, in this Mi 5S all the best technology currently in circulation has been grouped together, including the much-anticipated ultrasonic sensor positioned below the home button (non-physical). More specifically we find:

In addition to the ultrasonic sensor, a big step forward was also made in the photographic segment, where a typical digital camera sensor (6,20 x 4,65 mm) was captured for the first time on a smartphone capable of capturing much more light and on which Lei Jun focused a lot, in particular by comparing the Mi 5S photo shots with those of an iPhone 6S Plus and a Galaxy S7 Edge (the 49% of the professional photographers in question appreciated the photos taken from Mi 5S!).
Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus
The Plus version does not differ only in size (more generous) but also for some technical specifications, first of all the presence of a double rear camera! But we go with order and start from the aesthetic sector.
Characterized by a design clearly inspired by the Redmi Pro, the differences with respect to the latter can be found in the diagonal of the display (and therefore, in the overall dimensions), which has now passed to 5,7 "inches, and in the presence of the sensor for fingerprint recognition on the back instead of under a home button (which is missing). Then making a dimensional comparison with the iPhone 7 Plus we find that the Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus turns out to be lower (3,6 mm) and narrower (0,2 mm) than the latter even if it has a larger display. dimensions (5,7 ″ vs 5,5 ″ inches) as well as 20 grams lighter (168 vs 188 gr).
Again, the specifications are at the top for today's standards and, more specifically, we find:

Very interesting is the implementation of the dual rear camera which, unlike the one seen in the Redmi Pro, is not intended to detect the depth of field but to capture more details. This is made possible by the fact that the main camera captures images in a classic way, i.e. in color (sRGB), while the secondary one has a monochrome (black and white) sensor that allows you to capture more light, greater contrast and reduce noise. . When a photo is taken, both cameras are activated and, through the technology defined ClearSight, are subsequently joined to form a significantly better photo both in terms of general quality and color fidelity, in addition to the fact that they can be obtained much more realistic black and white photos.
Availability and Price
Let us now turn to the part of everything, ie availability, variations and their prices. Both will be sold in four different colors, one more than before, and more specifically black, white, gold and pink / gold and will be sold by 29 September on the official Xiaomi, JD.com and Mi Home stores site.
