Chrome is renewed (finally) with 3 new features based on generative AI | Video

Google decided some time ago, first with Gemini and then with other minor features, to bring generative AI to its search engine. With the latest release (M121), the giant introduces three AI generative capabilities on Chrome that promise to change the way users browse the web, offering a much smoother and much more personalized experience. Here are the three new features presented.

3 AI features just landed on Google Chrome

The first of these features is the Tab Organizer. This tool allows you to intelligently manage open tabs, automatically suggesting groups of tabs based on the user's current activity. Whether planning a trip, researching a topic, or shopping online, Tab Organizer makes it easier to manage multiple tasks at the same time. Users can access this feature by right-clicking on a tab and selecting “Organize similar cards“. Chrome will also suggest names and emojis for these new groups, making it easier to find them.

The second new feature concerns browser customization. Chrome introduces a text-image diffusion model, similar to the one launched with Android 14 and Pixel 8, to generate custom themes. Users can create themes based on a subject, a specific visual style, color or atmosphere, without having to be an AI expert. This function is accessible from the “ panelCustomize Chrome“, by clicking on “change topic" and then "Create with AI".

Finally, Chrome is developing a feature writing support. This AI-powered feature, expected in an upcoming release, will help users write more confidently on the web, whether it's leaving a well-rounded review, writing a friendly invitation, or making a formal request. Users will be able to activate this feature by right-clicking on a text field and selecting “Help me write“. Something similar, although not the same, has arrived on Gmail da poco.

These Chrome AI features aren't just a convenient addition, they mean a significant transformation in how we interact with the web. The AI in Chrome doesn't just make familiar tasks easier, it suggests a future where the browser acts as a proactive assistant, capable of anticipating and satisfying user needs in increasingly sophisticated ways.
