Official Honor Magic 6 series: the Pro has a 180MP periscope sensor, the Porsche Design Edition version costs more than 2000 euros

Honor, the former smartphone brand Huawei, officially presented its new series of top-of-the-range smartphones: Honor Magic 6. This is a family of devices that includes three models: Honor Magic 6, Magic 6 Pro e Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design Edition. The latter is a special version created in collaboration with the famous German car brand, which offers an exclusive design and high-level equipment.

The Honor Magic 6 series stands out for its innovative and refined design, which is inspired by the history of Chinese civilization and the beauty of nature. The module rear camera inherits the Eye of Muse style, typical of previous Honor models, and adopts the shape of a jade cong of Sanxingdui, an ancient Chinese archaeological site. Furthermore, it adds cushion-shaped elements and incorporates patterns that recall Chinese culture and landscapes on the back.

On the front, Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro differ in screen type. Magic 6 It has a screen with a central hole for the front camera, while Magic 6 Pro has a double hole that also houses a component for 3D facial recognition. Both of them screens are OLED type, with a diagonal of 6,8 inches and resolution of approximately 2800×1280 pixels. They also have a 120 Hz refresh rate, with LTPO technology that allows you to dynamically adapt the refresh rate based on the content displayed.

The Honor Magic 6 series also supports the format Dolby Vision, having a global maximum brightness of 1600 nits and a local maximum brightness of 5000 nits. The screens are protected by ultra-resistant glass, which offers 10 times greater drop resistance than traditional glass. Finally, the Honor Magic 6 series integrates five eye-protecting technologies, including high-frequency PWM dimming, natural light, night mode, blue light filter and faithful color reproduction. The screens got the TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification and the Bidding Institute's VICO A+ test.

The Honor Magic 6 series is equipped with the third generation of the Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, which offers high performance thanks to the 4nm process technology and the exclusive GPU Turbo Scheduling function, which optimizes the frame rate and graphic quality of games. The Honor Magic 6 series also offers large storage capacity, with several variants ranging 12GB to 16GB of RAM and 256GB to 1TB of ROM.

The Honor Magic 6 series also stands out for its photographic sector, which offers exceptional image quality. Magic 6 has a 50MP front camera and a triple rear camera, consisting of a 50MP main sensor, produced by Omnivision and featuring optical image stabilization (OIS), 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, with autofocus, and a te sensor32MP periscope lens, with 2,5x optical zoom and OIS.

The Honor Magic 6 series uses a second-generation Qinghai Lake battery, which integrates an E1 chip for improving energy efficiency. Magic 6 has a 5450 mAh battery, which supports the 66W fast charging, while Magic 6 Pro has a 5600 mAh battery, which supports the 80W fast charging.

Magic 6 Pro also supports Honor Hongyan communication, which allows you to directly connect your smartphone to satellite services, via the Tiantong satellite. This feature allows you to make voice calls and text messages in real time, even in the absence of a network signal. Honor claims this is the fastest satellite connection speed in the industry, with a 40% increase over previous solutions and a 50% reduction in standby power consumption.

The series Honor Magic 6 It is available in three versions, with different prices and colors. Magic 6 has a starting price of 4399 yuan (around 570 euros) for the 12+256 GB version, and you can choose between black, white and blue colors. Magic 6 Pro has a starting price of 5699 yuan (about 740 euro) for the 12+256 GB version, and you can choose between black, white, blue and gold. Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design Edition has a price of 15999 yuan (around 2000 euros) for the 16+512 GB version, and has a black color with red highlights.

The Honor Magic 6 series will go on sale from January 15th. It is not yet known if and when it will arrive in Europe.
