Honor, the well-known Chinese smartphone brand, has just launched a new entry-level device, the Play 40Con its official website. Let's see in detail the technical specifications.
Official Honor Play 40C: entry-level with 90Hz screen and 5200mAh battery
The screen of the Play 40C is a 6,56 inch LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, which corresponds to a density of 269 PPI. Although the resolution is not very high, the screen supports one 90Hz refresh rate, which ensures greater fluidity in animations and games. In addition, the screen has a technology called “daylight-like eye protection”, which simulates the dynamic changes of natural light and promotes blood circulation in the eyes and relieves eye fatigue with intelligent rhythmic light technology.
As for the photographic sector, the Play 40C has one 13 megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, which can take photos up to 4160 x 3120 pixels and supports various modes such as time-lapse photography, night scene mode, portrait mode, video recording and professional photography. There front camera is 5 megapixel instead with f/2.2 aperture, suitable for selfies and video calls.
The heart of the Play 40C is the Snapdragon 480+ processor, a low-end chip manufactured by Qualcomm that features an octa-core CPU with two A76 cores running at 2.2 GHz and six A55 cores running at 1.9 GHz. The RAM memory is 6 GB, while the internal storage space is 128 GB, expandable via microSD card.
The Play 40C's battery is one of its strengths, as it has a capacity of 5200 mAh, which should guarantee excellent autonomy even with intense use of the smartphone. There charging is however limited to 10 W, so not very fast. The smartphone unlocking method is the side fingerprint recognition, which is located on the right edge of the device. The Play 40C also retains a headphone jack from 3,5 mm, an increasingly rare feature in modern smartphones.
The Honor Play 40C will be sold in China at starting price of 899 yuan, about 112 euros at the current exchange rate. The Play 40C will be available in two colors: blue and black.
