Honor, the famous Chinese smartphone brand is about to launch a new mid-range model with 5G connectivity and the name Honor X9b 5G, will therefore be the successor to the Honor X9a presented in January 2023. The new device was unveiled in preview on the company's Malaysian website, where it is possible to admire its rear design.
Honor X9b will be an economical 5G smartphone with curved display and 108MP camera
The Honor X9b 5G comes with a curved rear body, made of imitation leather material in the orange variant. In the center stands a large circular island which houses the three rear cameras. There main camera has a resolution of 108MP and an aperture of f/1.75, while the other two are a 5MP ultra-wide angle with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 2MP macro with an aperture of f/2.4.
On the front, however, the Honor X9b 5G sports a 6.78 inch curved AMOLED display, with a resolution of 2652 x 1200 pixels, or 1.5K. The screen has a maximum brightness of 1200 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate, to guarantee exceptional fluidity and sharpness. Furthermore, it supports a color gamut of 1.07 billion colors and uses 1920Hz PWM Dimming technology to reduce eye strain.
The hole for the front camera is positioned at the center of the top of the screen and has a 16MP resolution with an aperture of f/2.45. The optical fingerprint sensor is also hidden under the display, to unlock the phone quickly and securely.
What moves the Honor X9b 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, an octa-core chip with support for the 5G network. There RAM memory is 4GB or 8GB, while that internal is 128GB or 256GB. While the operating system is MagicOS 7.2, based on Android 13.
La battery has a capacity of 5800mAh and supports the quick charge to 35W via the USB-C port. The dimensions of the phone are 163.6 x 75.5 x 7.98 mm and the weight is 185 grams.
The Honor X9b 5G will be available in three colors: orange, black and green. The price and release date have not yet been officially announced, but it is expected to be very competitive compared to other smartphones in the same range.
