If you remember well in early September Lu Weibing, the general manager of Redmi, had said that the next high-end device of his brand would have integrated a processor built by Qualcomm. Although the veracity of his words should not be questioned, some time later a brand insider would have come out of it Redmi K30 would have instead a processor manufactured by Taiwanese MediaTek. Today another very famous channel on Weibo would have confirmed that the successor of the pop-up camera phone will undoubtedly have this last processor: in particular it is one that will be released soon, precisely the 26 November.
The MediaTek processor for Redmi K30 will be released on November 26
As we all know, one of the first things to be said about this SoC MediaTek and the support for dual band 5G connectivity. We have also seen how many users on Weibo would prefer a SoC born of this company rather than a Qualcomm, a preference probably agreed for the price. To tell the truth, let us remember that Redmi has always said that he would do devices in a bit more "lower" than Xiaomi and the choice to use this type of processor would be the proof.
As said before, this channel would have revealed not only what the processor will be (MediaTek M6885) on board the device with camera punchole, but also other little gems. For example, one is that the chip under the shell will support a camera up to 80 megapixels: this would be a record for the brand and would allow it to getting closer to the goal achieved by Xiaomi with the new Mi Note 10, with main camera from well 108 megapixel.
Secondly, the Redmi K30 will have the possibility to shoot videos in 4K, without needing future updates that allow it to do so, by the factory we say. And this too will be a feature that users will no doubt appreciate. Finally, the last leaked feature concerns design: it seems that the device will be equipped with one curved screen. To get an idea we can see the screen of the already mentioned My Notes 10.
In any case, the main features of the SoC are: 7nm construction process, new generation AI architecture, 4K registration support, Cortex-A77 CPU and Mali-G77 GPU.
In short, the K30 will be the first smartphone to mount this processor which will be released in just two weeks. Many are happy with this choice first of all for one cost issue, since it is known that the price of a MediaTek processor is decidedly lower than a Qualcomm; secondly, given the success of Notes redmi 8 Pro with its Helio G90T, it is not surprising that the brand relies for the second time on the Taiwanese giant; to finish, we believe that a third reason why the brand is moving well is "the diversity". The market needs new products, dusted off. In the end the problem of modding we took it away. What do you want more?
