Photos come to life: Instagram's feature turns images into unique stickers

Instagram is known as a platform where you can share moments captured in photos or videos. Recently, it began testing a new feature that could make interacting and sharing even more fun and personalized. This is a function that allows you to turn user photos into stickers, ready to be used in Stories And in the Reel. Adam Mosseri himself communicates this on his broadcast channel.

New coming: personalized stickers on Instagram

Adam Mosseri, in a video shared on his broadcast channel, offered a demonstration of how this new sticker creation tool will work. The function is still in the testing phase, but it promises to add a touch of personalization to interactions on Instagram. Users will be able to create personalized stickers from their own photos, and in some cases, also from those of other users, then inserting them into Reels or Stories.

How does it work?

The idea is simple but effective: the tool selects the subject of a photo and eliminate the background, creating a “stackable” sticker that can be placed on top of other content. Compared to other recent features based on artificial intelligence, this tool presents itself as a much simpler and more intuitive solution.

Additionally, in addition to creating stickers from photos saved on the phone, users will also have the option to create them from “suitable images” displayed on Instagram, further expanding your creative possibilities. Mosseri did not provide further details on this, but this suggests that users may have the option to make your own images”adhesiveable".

Instagram doesn't stop there: the platform is also testing a new one poll function which will appear in the comments section below the feed posts. This test represents a further effort to make the platform more interactive and engaging. For the moment, however, the function remains in the testing phase and is not yet available to users.
