Good evening to everyone. I want to report that since yesterday, after the update that led to the progress of the operating system to the 8.1 version, I can no longer use the sim card inserted in the 2 slot. I first tried to reverse the two sims assuming it could be a network problem, but the one I assigned to the 2 slot, once inserted into the 1 slot, works regularly. I also tried to perform a hard reset: during the configuration the smartphone detects the presence of two sims (so much so that asks me what to allocate to calls and which data traffic) but, once the home appears, the 2 sim is unusable (even though they can regularly access the APN parameter configuration and everything else). On the fb groups I found that I'm not the only one with the same problem. Is there a procedure that can be followed to solve or do I necessarily have to hope for a resolutive update? Thanks a lot to everyone.
With these "poignant" words begins a small odyssey that is affecting hundreds of users, namely the failure of the SIM 2 slot, thus hindering the Dual SIM solution offered by the device in question, a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, in particular with ROM Global Stable version 9.6.5.0. In reality, doing some research on the net, it seems that the Mi A2 Lite was also the victim of this bug, which however does not seem to affect all devices despite the fact that the ROM base is the same. The "positive" thing is that reports of the case have already been made to people interested in ROM development, directly in China, who seem to have identified the problem, awaiting resolution. However, we invite you to check your terminal for scruple, specifically Mi A2 Lite and Redmi 5 Plus, but also the other devices. Often this type of bug is not noticed, for the simple reason that not everyone uses two SIMs at the same time on the same phone.
Joys and sorrows for Xiaomi: serious bug afflicts Redmi 5 Plus during the celebrations of the release of Android P for Mi 8
And if Redmi 5 Plus users have some headaches to deal with, good news instead comes for Mi 8 owners who can now benefit from the new MIUI 10 update based on Android P, even if at the moment the beta is only for a select few. However, the links to the downloads will soon appear, allowing all the brave ones to benefit from the new and substantial Big G major update. The beta firmware intended for internal tests brings the Mi 8 software to version 8.9.6 , with MIUI 10 and Android 9 base, with a weight of 2,1 GB.
In addition to the features of the new Android OS, the security patch is updated in September 2018. Of course on both issues we will keep you updated. Stay tuned ...
Nerd, Geek, Netizen, terms that do not belong to me. Simply myself, technology lover and provocative as Xiaomi does with his products. High quality at fair prices, a real provocation for the other most famous brands.
