With the arrival of the warm season and the beautiful days, one of the best purchases for our green mobility can only be a scooter electric. But among the forest of offers it is difficult to find your way around, so we are here to give you some interesting advice. Today I tell you about Kugoo Kirin M4 Pro version 2022 (third update) a product that convinced me from all points of view.
Topics of this article:
CONFEZIONE KIRIN M4 PRO
Our scooter will arrive in a double box, the outer one in cardboard and the inner one (always in cardboard) which is, let's say, the sales one. Inside the second we will find ours Kirin M4 PRO perfectly packed with a double layer of polystyrene, therefore proof of any type of transport.
Here we will find:
- Scooter
- Seat + Accessories
- loader
- Instruction booklet
- Mounting Kit
- Ignition keys
I'll start off by telling you that in Italy it's illegal to ride with a saddle, so I didn't even mount it. If you want a lighthouse, at your risk of a fine, you will find the necessary equipment and tools in the assembly kit. In the latter you will also find the various Allen keys needed to fix all the handlebar accessories and a connecting tube for inflating the tires which, in any case, will arrive already inflated. The instruction booklet is only in English and (I think) Polish. Among other things, I suppose it is that of the penultimate version of the M4 pro as some steps it illustrates for fixing some screws are not necessary on this model.
ASSEMBLY Kirin M4 Pro
The assembly won't take you a lot of time as I will explain a crucial step which in my case took me about 20 minutes. In fact, to fix the front wheel in position you will have to turn the pin that you will find near the release lever and give it a sharp blow to lock it in position. At this point you will always have to turn the same screw to lock the lever (for safety). Reverse operation to close it, then turn the screw to the "open" position and you will have to lower the red release lever (do it with your foot, which is more comfortable). The only inconvenience was realizing that to put it in the open position you have to push it with a sharp blow. I am attaching photos of the correct final open and closed position
Now you will have to open the handlebar as it will arrive closed.
To open it, just unscrew the two big red stops and lift it horizontally. At this point you will have to screw the red stops to block it. Now you will also have to fix: the brakes, the lights-indicators-horn block, the battery voltage display/ignition key and the on-board computer/accelerator lever. To fix them you will need the Allen keys that you will find in the assembly kit. Set them as you are most comfortable. I blocked them like this:
I advise you to keep the arrow/light block close to the grip so you don't have to take your hand off just to use it, while the accelerator/on-board computer block further to the left so as not to have the accelerator lever too close to the brake one.
Finally, just adjust the handlebar height and you're ready to go! Loosen the closure by opening the appropriate red lever, adjust and close again!
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT Kirin M4 Pro
Dimensions are as follows:
open: maximum height 120cm, length 115cm, width 60cm
closed: height 45cm, length 115cm, width 45cm
While as regards the weight we are around 22.5Kg
KIRIN M4 PRO TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT
As for the technical sheet of the Kirin M4 Pro we are truly at excellent levels and you will need nothing to comply with the CDS. The motor is a very powerful brushless 500w (maximum limit allowed by law) which will guarantee you great power and combined with a super battery of 48V 18Ah will guarantee you an incredible autonomy up to approx 60/70km. The speed is also impressive, in fact you can get to approx 50Km/h even if we remind you that it is ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN to exceed the 20Km/h on all urban roads. The power supply has an output power of 54V and 2A with not very fast recharging times, in fact it will take about 8 hours for a complete 0-100% recharge. My advice is to recharge it at night after using it.
What is truly exceptional, which for the first time I find on an electric scooter is the ignition key! Truly a not inconsiderable plus because if you don't have a locking system you will never be able to move away from your scooter with peace of mind (for an aperitif and perhaps to take a stroll on the lake shore).
The presence of the directional arrows now required by law is excellent, so you won't have to mount annoying and expensive additional kits. The front light with 4 powerful LEDs and the rear one are obviously present. Also present is the rear light as a braking signal, a side LED strip on the right and left that will flash when you turn on the lights. So visibility in the dark will be total, front, back and sideways. There are also passive reflectors near the wheels for total safety.
The wheels are 10″ off road type which will be perfect on any type of path, road/dirt and off road. The brakes are disc front and rear and this too will guarantee us maximum safety when braking. There are even front and rear shock absorbers to ensure maximum stability even on uneven terrain. And just to make sure we don't miss anything, we also have mudguards on both wheels!
The platform is 40x20cm non-slip rubber. I must say both for size and for comfort even if you have to face a rainy day .. in fact even in this case you will not have problems as your Kirin M4 Pro It is certified IPX4.

ON-BOARD COMPUTER
The TF-100 on-board computer will give us useful information for our journey, the total km travelled, the speed, the gear engaged (1-2-3) and the percentage of battery charge. Not explained in the booklet but found online the secret settings menu which can be accessed by pressing the power button and the menu button simultaneously. From here you can modify many parameters, but my advice is to leave them as they are except for menu P09 which will allow you to set the start via initial push. In fact, by default it will start only by pressing the acceleration lever which is a somewhat dangerous setting for the less experienced. below I leave you all the settings that correspond to the various numbers of the secret menu:
- P02 – Choice between Km and Miles
- P03 – Voltage
- P04 – Minutes in which it goes into standby
- P06 – Wheel size
- P09 – 0: will start immediately with the accelerator – 1: push is needed to get it started
- P15 – Motor power in percentage
- P16: 0: cruise control deactivated – 1: cruise control activated
- P99: System reset
- oDo: Total km
FIELD TEST
I've tried the scooter on different tracks and I must say that I've always had a good time. If almost everyone is fine on the paved road, it becomes more complicated on the dirt and off-road. With ours M4 PRO I have to say that I haven't had any problems, certainly thanks to the shock absorbers and off-road wheels. The power of the engine also probably helps us a lot, especially on climbs on uneven roads. As far as speed is concerned, I must tell you that in my opinion gear 3 should be avoided as it is too powerful. I believe that the limit introduced by the CDS is adequate, going over 30km/h can become very dangerous because a possible fall would certainly cause us good physical damage.
I found the "cruise control" function (setting P16 of the on-board computer) very convenient which will allow you, once you have reached the cruising speed you are interested in, to maintain it without holding down the accelerator lever. To interrupt this function, just brake. Here, we come to the brakes: really excellent. Both are disc and both brake very well without ever nailing the wheel. I don't think there is ABS but the result is pretty much the same.
I also tried the scoter in the evening and I must say that the lighting is really good. No problem to see from the front and the side LED strip is also "nice" which lights up when the lights are switched on and will make you even more visible in every direction.
And then, the gem .. the ignition key! I assure you that it is incredibly comfortable in all those circumstances where you want to leave your scooter away from you. Do you know why? because stealing it by taking it away manually won't be very easy! I say this because one of the few points that didn't convince me is its weight, therefore portability. We're talking about 22Kg, so nothing impossible, Hulk Hogan won't be needed to lift it but it certainly won't be easy if you have to carry it for many meters.
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
As you may have understood the Kirin M4 PRO I really liked it but obviously everything must be related to the price. It costs around €900 in the price list but thanks to our partner site GOOD BANG and you can take home our COUPON with a discount of around 55%! I remind you that on BANGGOOD, to protect your purchases, you can pay with PayPal and the shipment will be FREE and directly from a warehouse located in Europe, therefore in about 5 days you will have your product without the risk of paying annoying customs duties.
Under these conditions, if you are considering buying an electric scooter, not buying the M4 PRO would be really crazy!
Pior service received by a company. 2 MONTHS to deal with a small problem, (open and close mechanism from which chegou) and the only thing I receive is emails to ask for a serious problem. It seems that we ignore português and mesmo after 2 videos and various photos to prove nada fizeram. It seems that the minha counts on the site of the same ones that you are paid for by some reason.
