A few weeks after the official presentation, the Xiaomi Mi5 has landed in the hands of the editorial staff of DxOMark. For the uninitiated, they represent the greatest photography experts and regularly test the most interesting smartphones, classifying them according to various parameters. Unfortunately for Xiaomi and for the Mi5, the total score was not very high or at least it was not at the levels of the most renowned top of the range.
In fact, Xiaomi Mi5 has scored 79 points on 100, spacing from the first position (occupied by HTC 10 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) of well 9 points. The description that DxOMark editing has done is as follows:
With the achievement of an overall DxOMark Mobile score of 79 points, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is a reliable option for a smartphone, particularly in outdoor and bright conditions. Our industry standard tests analyzed the quality of both recorded photos and videos to determine individual scores. They were 80/100 for photos and 76/100 for videos.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 performs a bit better for stills, with good exposures and good autofocus autofocus performance. Its 16MP sensor with 1 / 2.8 ″ aperture also captures high levels of detail in bright light, making it capable of photographing intricate and complex outdoor scenes. Some noise is present in all the photos however, which is particularly noticeable in low light conditions, along with a loss of the finer details.
In short, the photo gallery did not fully convince the editorial staff of DxOMark. Looking to make a comparison, Mi5's quality is compared to that of Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z3.
