Honor, the well-known Chinese smartphone brand, surprised the market with the launch of three foldable screen phone models in the second half of this year: Magic V2, V Purse and Magic Vs2. These devices have challenged competitors such as Samsung and Huawei by offering different design and performance solutions. However, it seems that Honor has no intention of stopping here and is already preparing another foldable model, this time with a vertical shape.
Leakster reveals that Honor will launch a new vertical foldable, but not only that
The famous blogger revealed it Digital Chat Station, who shared some information about the new Honor phone on Weibo, the popular Chinese social network. According to the leakster, Honor will launch a small phone with a foldable screen at an unspecified time, equipped with the Snapdragon high-performance platform, having a Typical battery capacity of 4500mAh (2420mAh+1980mAh), which is the same as Huawei's foldable phones. The phone will also have an external fold layout and a large fold, similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
The blogger also mentioned that Honor's flat-screen phone is testing satellite communication and variable aperture technology, but did not specify the exact model. These features could be present in the next models of the series Honor 100 and Honor Magic 6, which are expected next year.
Previously, Honor product line president Fang Fei hinted in an official China Telecom Satellite video that Honor's new phone will support satellite communication. Fang Fei said that in the past two years, Honor and China Telecom have entered into deep technical cooperation to solve technical problems such as high power consumption of satellite services, tight link budget and difficult heat dissipation. At the same time, they have also made progress in chip miniaturization, integrated satellite antennas and other areas, achieving technological breakthroughs and opening a new direction for direct-link satellite services for intelligent terminals. The name and release time of Honor's new vertical foldable model have yet to be confirmed, but it's likely to be called Magic Flip, following the nomenclature of the brand's other foldable phones.
