About two months ago Xiaomi released two new TV Boxes, named Xiaomi Mi Box 3S and 3C , and as per tradition these two new products are equipped with innovations. This time it is an artificial intelligence module that controls the TV Box. Therefore the Xiaomi Mi Box 3S and 3C can be considered as the first products in this category able to learn what users do periodically and make suggestions to provide a better user experience over time. But beyond that it is certainly interesting to give a look inside of the TV box, in order to discover its components and to ensure its constructive quality.
First, no screwdriver is needed to open the Xiaomi Mi Box 3S. A design without screws it is very pleasant and all in all it is easy enough to open the case.
Once open, you can see the blue PCB fastened to the top panel via 4 screws.
Even the infrared signal receiving panel is inserted without any screw and can be easily removed.
Nothing is anchored to the lower panel but a relief texture can be seen to strengthen the structure which is thus made sturdy and difficult to fold.
You can use a cross-head screwdriver to remove the PCB from the top panel.
Below it we find a metal plate with a thermal film applied on it.
The main components of the Xiaomi Mi Box 3S are covered by a small metal plate, which hides the RAM. The technology used for the PCB is the chip-one that is without soldering parts, providing a longer life.

The Xiaomi Mi Box 3S is equipped with a standard HDMI 2.0 port with support for 18 GBit / s bandwidth, 4K video output at 60Hz. A thermal film is also provided for the removable metal plate to create greater heat dissipation and greater system stability.
One of the most interesting aspects is the quad-core Amlogic S905X processor clocked at 2.0 GHz and Cortex A53 architecture and its Mali 450 GPU with H.264 file support and H.265 decoding as well as Google VP9.
The internal memory is provided by Toshiba and corresponds to the THGBMHG6C1LBAIL model with a maximum capacity of 8 GB. Compared to the standards of previous generations, the eMMC 5.1 provides a higher transfer rate. On the opposite side we find the 2 GB capacity RAM consisting of four 3 MB DDR512 modules.
The Xiaomi Mi Box 3S inherits the eye-catching design style of the Mi Box 3, however the Mi Box 3S differs in SOC and internal memory.
