After submitting the new series Note 9, the Redmi brand continues to make itself talk once again with one or more devices that are preparing to land in China.
Lu Weibing: Expect several surprises from Redmi in May
The news comes directly from Lu Weibing, general manager of Redmi and vice president of Xiaomi Group. Weibing has in fact shared a post on the famous social Weibo (the Chinese Twitter), in which he says that "In May, Redmi will present some surprises". Now, the GM of Redmi has not added any clues and therefore we could have spent hours and hours speculating which device he was talking about, but luckily a renowned Chinese leakster, such Digital Station, has solved the question for us.
According to Digital Station, in fact, Lu Weibing is talking about the Redmi 10X, which should be the Chinese remix of the Redmi Note 9 presented globally last week. There should also be an additional device called Redmi 9 or 10 which would instead be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 800 as a processor.
Having said that, a few days ago we had covered the news of the possible launch of a super cheap 5G smartphone. Should that device have come with the name of Redmi K30i 5G, which is the same? In any case, whether it is called Redmi K30i 5G, Redmi 9 or 10, it will be a smartphone with a price of about 1599 Yuan, or about 210 euros at the current exchange rate, therefore the cheapest on the market equipped with 5G technology.
As for all the other specifications, it is currently difficult to talk about it with certainty. We can however assume to find an IPS LCD type display with a size of over 6,5 inches diagonal and Full HD + resolution. While a leak of a few days ago had revealed that the smartphone could arrive with a 48MP image sensor.
We just have to wait for further official info, which apparently will not be long after Lu Weibing's post.
