It seems to us a fake, and it is. Unfortunately the mother of the counterfeiters is always at work and today's case confirms this. A render depicting the hypothetical is running online Meizu 18, the next flagship of the homonymous house that a few months ago launched in China on the 17th. As we all know throughout 2020 there will be no mid-range and top-of-the-range devices company: the general manager of the company confirmed this some time ago. Consequently, the next flagship device of the Chinese giant will arrive next year. In truth, in the article you find in the source, there is only this. But let's see the details and let's try to understand why this is fake news.
No Meizu 18 is in preparation, or at least there is no evidence about it: the renders that are running are not true
The website TechInDeep is not new to these pranks. Among untruthful announcements and retouched photos of smartphones that never existed, the "official" render of Meizu 18. It is a smartphone with completely twisted design compared to the predecessor and current flagship. In fact, in the back there is one black stripe in the center of the body, a little like “custom racing cars”. A detail that does not distinguish at all the company's smartphones which, rather, have a extremely sober and elegant design.
Back side Front side
In addition to this we see a rear photographic module formed by four optics, in pairs of two. The "stick" format of the Meizu 17 is changed in favor of a more simplistic four sensors. Finally let's look at the front: no hole, no notch It is probably) no pop-up mechanism. But now let's see the reasons why this will not be the next device of the Chinese company:
- first of all Huang Zhuang, CEO and founder of Meizu, never claimed that the smartphone will be released early next year (as the source claims);
- secondly, the design is not convincing: the rear strip it will not be a distinctive feature of the device and even less will the cameras;
- speaking of cameras, let's see some details: i sensors are flush with the body, which no one at the moment (excluding Oppo) has managed to do. Even more so if the camera will be 108 megapixel as the source claims.
In short, the data that does not add up are many. What do you think?
