It has been talked about for a long time now because if until now Xiaomi she leaned on Huami for the construction of smartwatches and wearables in general (including We Band), the output of this wearable device could trace a clear line dividing the two brands. Perhaps there is no need to paint it so black, but the reality is that this We Watch is the first proprietary device of this kind for the Chinese company and is finally official.
Mi Watch: Xiaomi's first smartwatch is finally official
Some time ago it was already the subject of leaks that heralded characteristics. In particular there was a teardown of the version 2.28 of the WearOS operating system (ie the one developed by Google and dedicated exclusively to smart watches) which suggested its name. Moreover, the companion app that should precisely "accompany" the smartwatch would be called I Wear. But let's see how it will look in this official Weibo post.
The reason we decided to let you see a post from MIJIA (the famous sub-brand that deals with the entire Xiaomi ecosystem) we'll explain later. As you can see the design has changed from those that have been, until now, the wearables produced by Huami, always a branch of the Chinese giant: the dial is less square and more rounded above and below, to recall a little what is the shape of the Mi Band. From the reflection of the photograph we also see how the glass seems to be a little bit rounded on the right and left sides. Last but not least "foreign" feature is a U-shaped button upside down on the dial: from what it turns out it is not a physical key but of a touch just like the best-selling fitness bands in the world.
Main features Mi Watch
But now we tell you why we chose this post: from what we have seen it is the only one who tells us something about the functioning of the Mi Watch. First of all it is not just a "sportwatch" since, according to MIJIA, it will not be limited to showing the time or to do the usual functions of any product on the market, but with its big screen will allow other functions for now unknown; besides this it seems that the function "call alert“, Or the one that will allow your smartphone to connect to the smartwatch to warn you when there is an incoming call or when an alarm is about to ring, will work up to 15 distance meters. But don't think it's over because the most interesting function is the possibility of upload smartphone apps to the Mi Watch. For now we do not know if it will be possible to load them all, including games, but it is undoubtedly a feature that will be useful pressappoco to all users.
Stay tuned to find out what's new with this device over the next few days, certainly before official launch scheduled for November 5, Together with Mi CC9 Pro.
Will you be able to respond to notifications? Does it have NFC? Thanks
Hello Mattia! Since this is only the official announcement via Weibo, we don't know anything else for now, but we are sure that at least the response to the notifications is available. Over the next few days we will know a little more.
