With MIUI 12 it will be possible to make partial screenshots: here's how

A few minutes ago we saw a very interesting one feature that the MIUI 12 camera will be equipped with. We said that at the imaging level Xiaomi has worked really hard but has not focused only on the aesthetic aspect of the operating system, or rather the customized interface. We know that many will also come Features more or less exclusive which will facilitate all daily tasks. Let's think about screenshot: how many times do we use it every day? Thanks to the new skin coming in a few days it will be even more intuitive and faster to capture parts of images that interest us. How? Let's see it together.

With MIUI 12 a new method will be introduced that will allow you to make partial screenshots with a few taps: ever greater intuitiveness for Xiaomi and Redmi devices

A few updates ago, on MIUI 11, the brand's software developers introduced the possibility of doing the "long sceenshot". Taking an image through swipe down with three fingers, or through the combination of keys provided, the image is saved and appears immediately in the upper right corner of the display; clicking on it is possible stretch the screenshot and take a larger image section.

The new feature that will arrive with the MIUI 12, already present on the Chinese beta, will allow capture a section that interests us. This will not be selectable only through a box, but also with a drawing. To better understand we look at the images below.

Choosing the mode that allows you to take the screenshot by swiping down with three fingers, a new window will open (photo on the right): here we can select the way we like best to make a partial screenshot. We will then use either a box (like when we crop the photos in "Gallery") or we will have the possibility of freely trace with the finger the section to be captured. This will be recognized immediately by the artificial intelligence of the device in our possession and will be transformed into a box, subsequently saved as a screenshot.

We know from certain sources this modality is already present on the first beta of MIUI 12 China and also that it will be included in the future, via OTA update, in the version overall that we will have on our smartphones. In this regard, we recall that during the official announcement of the MIUI 12 Global the release period of the update in question has been announced. It will start from June and it will end (hopefully even if we don't believe it very much) around September.
