MIUI 13 Global it is finally reality. After Xiaomi presented the Chinese version a few weeks ago, it's time for Europe to welcome the custom skin based on Android 12. We know there are differences in terms of functionality between the Global version and the China version (but also of performance). Only by updating the devices will we actually know what these differences are, but in the meantime let's see that what the MIUI 13 Global introduces to all effects.
MIUI 13 Global is official: the new Xiaomi skin based on Android 12 has also arrived in Europe. Here is news and list of devices that will be updated
Basically the MIUI 13 Global introduces four big pins that go to improve functionality and performance. We are not talking (for now) about new features, but about improvements in terms of speed, fragmentation, reading and writing:
- liquid storage: system that improves the reading and writing efficiency up to 60%. On average, after 36 months of use, the write and read speed drops by 50%. Thanks to Liquid Storage, defragmentation increases dramatically, allowing (over 3 years on average) to maintain the same speed or poco less
- atomized Memory: a refined memory management method, which takes RAM efficiency to a new level by dividing its usage processes into important and unimportant activities at the individual app level. Basically, the efficiency increases by 40% compared to before
- Focus Algorithms: mode that dynamically allocates system resources based on usage scenarios, making MIUI more fluid and responsive. Without this feature, all the functions would have the same space in the RAM memory, but using These FAs, each app has its own space cut out that occupies the bare minimum, leading to an increase in autonomy.
- Smart balance: system designed to automatically find the balance between performance and energy consumption, thus guaranteeing an overall battery life of up to 10% longer
The MIUI 13 Global will also arrive Apple iOS style widget. These, as we see below, will allow you to view information such as weather, time, steps, calendar and so on in a more immediate way. Clearly there is aintegration with Google Discover so that the two do not conflict: remember that Widget and Discover are both accessible by swiping to the right.

Another novelty is the Sidebar, always in iOS style. We continue with the Sidebar. Through it, it will be possible access your favorite applications quickly and easily. Basically it is a multitasking but lateral and more explicit. Unlike the latter, however, active applications cannot be deleted in the background.
Other wallpapers will also be introduced than the Super Wallpaper we know from MIUI 12. According to the Xiaomi official site, these will reach the MIUI 13 Global but on some smartphones only. Among these all those of the Xiaomi 12 family, Xiaomi Mi 11, Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 9, Redmi Note 9, 10 and 11 and POCO F2 and F3.

If you can't find a smartphone (such as the POCO) in this list does not mean that you will not receive the update. Means that will be part of the second or third batch of devices that will be updated. It goes without saying that the second and third batches will receive the MIUI 13 AFTER the first quarter of 2022, therefore starting from April 2022.
