MIUI 13 Global official: all the news and device list

MIUI 13 debuted in China a few weeks ago and today, together with the Redmi Note 11 series, also comes in a Global version. This is the latest version of the Xiaomi custom skin based on Android 12. This operating system is giving great satisfaction and we expect that together with the MIUI 13 Global the things it can produce are many. We have dealt with the discourse of the features of the skin in question: the China and Global versions have some differences, but which ones? Let's see in detail all features announced today.

Finally the MIUI 13 Global is official, together with the Redmi Note 11 line. Let's see together the news and the devices that will be updated

The improvements of the base experience of the MIUI 13 Global are based in particular on four innovative features:

  • liquid storage: system that improves the reading and writing efficiency up to 60%. On average, after 36 months of use, the write and read speed drops by 50%. Thanks to Liquid Storage, defragmentation increases dramatically, allowing (over 3 years on average) to maintain the same speed or poco less
  • atomized Memory: a refined memory management method, which takes RAM efficiency to a new level by dividing its usage processes into important and unimportant activities at the individual app level. Basically, the efficiency increases by 40% compared to before
  • Focus Algorithms: mode that dynamically allocates system resources based on usage scenarios, making MIUI more fluid and responsive. Without this feature, all the functions would have the same space in the RAM memory, but using These FAs, each app has its own space cut out that occupies the bare minimum, leading to an increase in autonomy.
  • Smart balance: system designed to automatically find the balance between performance and energy consumption, thus guaranteeing an overall battery life of up to 10% longer

A novelty of this MIUI 13 Global is the arrival of the iOS-style widgets. As we have addressed in another location, for the sake of compatibility with Google's Discover, these are slightly different from those of the Chinese version. In most cases, however, we can count on widgets such as clock, calendar, popular videos, tasks, calories burned (if the smartphone is connected to a smartband or smartwatch) and so on. To use it just go to Settings, activate the Widgets and do swipe with your finger to the right.

We continue with the Sidebar. This takes inspiration from iOS, but also from the old Xiaomi volume bar in previous versions of MIUI. As we can see in the image below, it will be possible access your favorite applications (that we can either choose us or make them "understand" to the system automatically) quickly. Basically it is a multitasking (the one we used by swiping the finger from bottom to top) but lateral and more explicit. Unlike the latter, however, active applications cannot be deleted in the background.

We also talked about the wallpapers. MIUI developers have worked with Beauty Science to bring new backgrounds, using a polarization microscope to record the shape and changes in crystal formation through 8K time-lapse photography. According to Xiaomi official site, these will reach the MIUI 13 Global but on some smartphones only (we report only those existing in our region and those that could arrive)
