Motorola Ibiza caught on Geekbench with octa-core CPU and 6G of RAM

Earlier this year, the Technik News site revealed the codenames of the upcoming Motorola smartphones that include Nio, Capri and Ibiza, which should debut in the first quarter of 2021. Now, while the Nio is much closer than the other two and will adopt Snapdragon 865 as CPU, Capri and Capri Plus are expected to debut as mid-range devices with 4G connectivity. The next Motorola Ibiza is expected to be equipped with a 5 series Snapdragon 400G chipset instead.

Motorola Ibiza

A new Motorola smartphone believed to be the Ibiza has in fact just been spotted in the GeekBench database. The device is shown with the model number XT2137-2 and has the codename Ibiza as the motherboard name.

The smartphone appears to run on the latest Android 11 operating system and is powered by an eight-core Qualcomm processor. The processor is believed to be the Snapdragon 480 chipset, Qualcomm's cheapest 5G chipset. At the moment, only the Vivo Y31s and the Oppo A93 5G have been launched with the low-end 5G chipset. Furthermore, together with the possible Snapdragon 480 we find 6 GB of RAM.

As for the test score, the Motorola Ibiza scored 2.466 points in the single-core test and 6.223 points in the multi-core test.

For the rest, however, the data shown by GeekBench are in line with those previously identified on the database of the Wi-Fi Alliance which confirmed that the device has dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity and runs on Android 11.
