We are all familiar with e-commerce Amazon, which among other things provides many additional services to its Prime subscribers, including the Video section with original and exclusive TV series and movies, but also the Photos service which has become the real alternative to Google Photos, but also the games section with titles often free and much more.
Well, among the many services included in the subscription we also find Music, the music streaming platform in direct competition with Spotify. And from this very competition, Prime customers will benefit from a fantastic upgrade to their subscription, making Amazon Music completely free for Prime users, but with some limitations.
Amazon Music entitles you to free access to over 100 million songs
You will say, that Amazon Music for Prime users it already provided free access and you are right, but this was "limited" to only 2 million songs, a "ridiculous" figure if we think that the entire list of the streaming service has over 100 million songs. So from now on, all users subscribed to the Music service will have access to 100% of the available catalog and all totally free of advertising, even if there is a small condition.
In fact, if you log into the platform as an Amazon Prime user, you will not be able to freely choose the songs you want to listen to. On the contrary, you will only be able to choose between the different playlists that Amazon has available on its service. At first glance this limitation may seem negative, but the lists are really varied and will allow you to discover new music.
Plus, it's not that big of a deal, since you can choose to only listen to your favorite artists or albums. Of course, shuffle play will also be available for you. Another novelty that will reach Amazon Prime users is that you will be able to listen to all the podcasts available on Amazon Music, without additional payments. Among them, you can find Amazon exclusive content and podcasts about celebrities and famous athletes.
The Amazon Music application will soon undergo a pleasant renewal
Along with the previous announcement, Amazon revealed that the Amazon Music app will soon receive a makeover. Not only will there be a much more intuitive new interface, but podcast previews will be added in the future. This feature will allow you to listen to small snippets of each episode to know if you are interested.
A strategic move by Amazon, considering the recent announcement by Apple, which will instead increase the prices of its Apple Music service, which also seems to be in Spotify's commercial plans. Surely this strategic move will attract many new subscribers, but not all that glitters is gold, in fact even Amazon itself has long since announced increases in services from 36,99 euros per year to poco less than 50 euros.
Well, if you really are indigestible of subscriptions, you can always take a look at our guide: ViMusic is the free and feature-rich alternative to Spotify.
