Almost all the top of the range of this year have been presented and even Xiaomi, after more than a year and a half of waiting, has finally proposed the successor of its former flagship by announcing it to the public all over the world during the MWC 2016 held in Barcelona . As usual Xiaomi, it has all the credentials to be defined top of the range on a par with other competitor smartphones currently on the market but with the advantage of having a very competitive price.
Speaking precisely of the power of this smartphone, we recently made some theoretical comparisons on the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 5 and other smartphones belonging to the same category. Specifically, we took into consideration two flagships just presented, namely the ZUK Z2 and the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe:

Today, however, the well-known benchmark site AnTuTu has published the ranking of the ten best performing smartphones for the month of May and among these also appears Xiaomi Mi 5.
Before examining what has been seen in the ranking it is necessary to make some preliminary considerations. Most of the smartphones listed have more than one variant (different amounts of RAM and storage) but for this ranking only the "full optional" one has been taken into consideration. Furthermore, only the statistics of their application were used over a period of time from May 1st to 31st of the same month and the average of 2000 scores for each single device was taken into consideration.
Moving on to the ranking, it can be seen that in the first positions there are only devices with Qualcomm CPUs Snapdragon 820 and the Xiaomi Mi 5 is in fourth place. However, one has to point out that in the first three positions there are three devices that possess well 6GB of RAM memory and that their internal memories wander between 64GB and 128GB. Considering this, you have to appreciate the optimization work done by Xiaomi as it is just up to 80 points of difference from the ZUK Z2 Pro (which we remember having the same storage but 6GB of RAM), while it differs by about 2000 points from the first position. The same cannot be said for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which ranks fifth with more than 4000 points from the first in the standings and more than 2000 from the Xiaomi Mi 5.
