The desire for a smartphone with a large display but without interruptions is now on the agenda. There are many solutions that the various smartphone OEMs have proposed to us over time, passing from pop-up cameras to rotating ones, even offering a double display up to the technology of the selfie camera under display, or inserted below the matrix of the display, “emerging” from the digital depth only when necessary.
All interesting solutions but which have never agreed between users and companies, perhaps because of the price, other times because of the practicality of use or because of the too much fragility of the mechanism. So here is that Xiaomi tries again to give a definitive, practical and economic solution or at least this is what emerges from a new patent that appeared on the net in these hours.
It seems that Xiaomi has patented a smartphone with a selfie camera integrated directly into the upper frame, without this being anti-aesthetic, indeed the selfie camera seems to appear completely invisible. The patent in question was approved at the beginning of June 2021 in Europe and the USA, a sign that the new device could break into the hearts of users by the end of the year.

From the document concerning the new selfie camera idea according to Xiaomi, the Asian brand has chosen to use various transparent components made of optical fibers so that the upper edge of the terminal is resistant but at the same time allows the passage of light to the photographic sensor.
A solution that could all agree, given that there will be no mechanisms that could deteriorate over time, the technology would be rather cheap to develop and especially in everyday life the practicality of use would remain unchanged compared to today, with the substantial difference that a gaining from it would be the aesthetics of the smartphone, retiring notches and punch holes.
