Nubia President Ni Fei released a promotional poster on Weibo, China's social media platform, in which he wrote, “The new imaging flagship, over 1 inch. 35mm custom optical upgrade. July, see”
According to rumors, the new smartphone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 high-frequency processor, which is Qualcomm's most powerful chip for mobile devices. Also, the main camera will replace the Sony IMX787 sensor with a larger sensor, which could be theIMX989, the most advanced 1-inch sensor at the moment. However, it's unclear whether the sensor will be in the M43 (M4/3) format, which is a format used by mirrorless cameras and which has a physical size of 17,3×13mm.
The promotional poster also shows an angled look of the new phone, which appears to have a large circular rear camera module, similar to that of more well-known flagships such as the Huawei P50 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, the protruding part of the module is very noticeable and could be a pain point for some users who prefer a thinner and lighter smartphone.
Nubia also said its new device goes beyond the one-inch lens, thanks to its custom 35mm optical system. This means that the phone's equivalent light input will be higher than that of its competitors, allowing you to capture brighter and more detailed images in low-light conditions. Nubia has already demonstrated this capability with its previous Z50 model, which had an equivalent light input of 16,9, surpassing the Mi 16,3 Pro's 13.
Nubia's new imaging flagship will be unveiled in July, according to the promotional poster. There is no information yet on the price and availability of the phone, but it is expected to be a high-end smartphone with outstanding performance and features.
