As for performance, the vivo is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, combined with the custom imaging chip vivo V3. It is available in two configurations, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB, with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage.

From a photography point of view the device integrates a main camera from 50MP “ultra-sensing”, equipped with a 50/1 inch OmniVision OV1.3H sensor and an f/1.68 lens with OIS. This sensor is larger than the 866/1-inch Sony IMX1.49v that was present in the X Fold2 and contributes to a slight increase in weight. We then find a 64MP telephoto module with 3x zoom equipped with OV64B sensor (1/2 inch) and an f/2.57 lens, as well as a 50MP (119°) ultra-wide-angle module with Samsung JN1 sensor (1/2.76 inch). THE Selfie cameras use a pair of 32MP sensors (1/3.6 inch).

Il vivo uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset of last year. Can be configured by 12GB/256GB up to 16GB/1TB (LPDDR5X, UFS 4.0). The V3 imaging chip is not present in this model.

The vivo X Fold3 uses a 50MP 1/1.49 inch Sony sensor (model IMX920) and an f/1.75 lens with OIS. There is also one 50MP 50mm portrait camera (816/1-inch IMX2.93 sensor, f/1.85) and a 50MP ultra-wide angle (the same JN1 with a 119° f/1.85 lens). THE selfie cameras are the same 32MP units.

Both X Fold3 models feature a carbon fiber zipper lightweight that weighs only 14.98 grams. She has been certified to withstand 500,000 bends by TÜV Rhinenland. vivo has also improved the phones' drop resistance: the front is 11 times more resistant, the back 15 times (compared to the X Fold2). The foldable display also features a impact resistant film in addition to UTG glass.

Another difference between the two models is that the Pro model has IPX8 water resistance, while the vanilla model only has IPX4. The X Fold2 didn't have any IP certification, so it's an improvement either way.

Furthermore, the Pro model also stands out for its huge 5,700mAh battery, while the basic X Fold3 has a slightly smaller 5,500mAh battery, which probably helps to reduce the weight by a few grams compared to the Pro. La Pro version is equipped with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the basic model supports a 80W wired charging only.

Both phones boast dual-SIM 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, NFC and an IR emitter. The Pro also features USB3.2 Gen2. Both have stereo speakers and Hi-Fi audio. Both have physical switches for silent mode. The Pro model also features two 3D ultrasonic fingerprint readers (one under each display), while the basic model uses a side-mounted reader.

Il vivo X Fold3 starts from 7000 yuan (about 900 euros) for the 12GB/256GB model. While the vivo for the 16GB/512GB model.
