It was only a matter of time before the "first" (after OnePlus X) OnePlus mid-range was rated by DxOMark, the well-known portal that tells us every day about the photographic qualities (and not only) of many devices. Quite right poco some time ago we saw how Google Pixel 4a managed to get away with fair marks. But OnePlus North? Today was the day of judgment. Let's see what are the pros and cons of the cameras of this device that the critics are liking so much.
OnePlus Nord is photographically evaluated by DxOMark: the results are not excellent, but you cannot help but make a comparison with the older brothers
Yes, because it is not very common to evaluate a medium range of OnePlus. The comparison with the 8 series, the last release in chronological order, is automatic. Although this did not make it to the podium, it did make headlines by returning to the top 20. In particular it is the model 8 Pro to sit in twentieth positionis. But having said that, let's see first how is composed the camera of OnePlus Nord; only after we see the DxOMark's verdict.

DxOMark verdict
Obtaining a score equal to 108 points, OnePlus Nord does not reach the big brother 8 Pro but still has a respectable result for a mid-range smartphone camera. In the ranking Photo receives a substantial 117 points, with good results for exposure, color, autofocus and texture. Unfortunately the average is lowered by bokeh and night photos. Zoom's score of 47 reflects the lack of telephoto-type optics but still does its job.
As regards the video lesson, they have one good exposure and a nice color. Stabilization is also efficient, but theautofocus was found to be decidedly lacking: in fact, only 44 points were given to this parameter.
The engineers noted that the dynamic range was rather limited, with some issues in both indoor and outdoor exposures, especially in demanding shots like a daytime portrait with backlight. As for the color, OnePlus Nord had some problems with the white balance, as a pink or orange cast was often visible, both inside and out.
In general, the expectations were different: borrowing the main sensor of OnePlus 8 Pro, something different was expected. However, we must not forget that we are talking about a mid-range with a price equal to half the 8 Pro.
