OnePlus also made its presence at MWC 2024 introducing its new smart smartwatch OnePlus Watch 2. Unlike its predecessors, it works with the operating system Wear OS by Google. OnePlus Watch 2 is the brand's first smartwatch with the Wear OS 4 operating system. The Chinese manufacturer defines its main feature as a battery life of 100 gold, which is noticeably longer than analogues on this operating system. With intensive use, up to 48 hours of operation are declared.
The secret to the autonomy of the OnePlus Watch 2 lies in the use of two operating systems e two processors. Therefore, Wear OS 4 and the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor they are responsible for running applications and dials, while the RTOS and the BES 2700 MCU Efficiency chipset perform simple, background tasks. The device automatically switches between one and the other, and the company ensures that the user will not notice this transition at all.
The smartwatch comes with one 1,43 inch round AMOLED screen covered with sapphire crystal and the case is made of stainless steel and is protected from water and dust according to the standard IP68.
OnePlus Watch 2 supports more than 100 types of workouts and is equipped with an eight-channel optical heart rate sensor and Dual frequency GPS. The latter means more precise location determination and was previously only found in expensive models such as the Apple Watch Ultra and Garmin Fenix 7. The Chinese giant also announced advanced functions to evaluate sleep quality and the risks associated with snoring.
The new smart watch will go on sale on March 14 at a price of 299€. On the official website of OnePlus it can be purchased with a free OnePlus Buds 3 Metallic Gray headphones.
