LatePost learned that the ZEKU, a chip subsidiary of Oppo, a Chinese smartphone maker, was registered earlier this year. The chip could be mounted on Find X5 series smartphones, which will be released in the first half of 2022. For the uninitiated, it is very easy that the company will skip the number 4 in the numbering of its devices. This is because the sound of the number 4 in Chinese resembles that of the word "death".
In addition to the ISP chip, ZEKU is also preparing an SoC or a full-fledged processor for smartphones, just like Snapdragon and MediaTek have been doing for decades.
