Il Face Unlock, or 3D face recognition, has become famous thanks to Apple. The iPhone users were the first to be able to count on this technology and subsequently, as very often happens, other companies have begun to integrate the same thing on their devices. Well, apparently Oppo has decided to go further and apply the recognition not to the face, nor to the Medicines, but to the veins. Exactly, a recognition of the veins that would allow to help (as Huami does) the users from the health point of view.
Here is Vein Unlock, a revolutionary facial recognition system that does not use the face, but the veins: a revolution by Oppo
The new technology has a patent number CN110298944B and describes a "Venous unblocking method and venous unblocking device". Oppo had applied for this patent in 2019, which was only recently granted. As per description, the patent relates to a vein release technology. In other words, a biometric system similar to facial recognition or fingerprint scanning but that maps the veins on users' hands.
This technology also bears a close resemblance to the system LG Hand ID, which maps the thickness and characteristics of a user's veins for unlocking. Thus, we can expect the system to map and record the thickness of the vein to verify its identity and authorize access. Although the details of this technology are currently unknown, the patented system could potentially have a number of applications in various electronic products of Chinese tech giants.

This is especially true for products wearable of the company as smartband o SmartWatch. Unfortunately, it's unclear whether the company is actually working on such a system right now or just covering all the bases. In fact it is only a patent for now.
