Oppo thinks of its Smart Tags like Apple and Samsung, here they are

What are the smart tag and what are they for? A device that at first glance may be useless but for distracted users is a lifesaver. In a nutshell it is a Bluetooth device that can be attached to any other device to track and find it, perhaps in case of accidental loss. Apparently companies of the caliber of Apple and Samsung have already got their hands on (Samsung first) and Oppo does not want to be left behind. Within the CNIPA, through the team of LestGoDigital, we became aware of this project.

Oppo Smart Tag: maybe this will be the name of the devices for tracking our devices. An idea for the most careless users

Oppo is also working on its own Bluetooth tracker. The Chinese smartphone maker has already significantly expanded its IoT portfolio over the past year, with the introduction of its own smartwatch Oppo watch. But now he is preparing to enlarge the catalog with the smart tag. This is the name that the team from the Netherlands gave to the product but that is not necessarily the case. Let's see how they are.

oppo smart tag

The product looks like a small opaque square with the brand right in the center. In May 2020, the company filed a design patent in China for a "Bluetooth smart tag locator". The documentation was released on 26 January 2021 and consists of a series of images showing the new tracker from all sides.

There is a small hole at the bottom left. Apparently this might seem like a hole for a hypothetical lanyard but according to what the team of LetsGoDigital, that's not it. It could be a light indicator with some other function. Nothing is known about its size but we can deduce that it will be a 4 x 4 cm like Samsung's.

Exit period

Nothing is certain but the guys from the Netherlands say that the launch is planned together with Oppo find x3. We doubt, but nothing is excluded. The company could decide to make a launch with great fanfare by offering products of different kinds. After all, it is never too late to expand your IoT catalog, perhaps with Oppo Smart Tag.
