Pixel 6 will be entirely made by Google, even the Whitechapel processor

Probably the Pixel 6 is on the way, but won't debut before 5a. Compared to these two devices it seems that the sources know everything and know nothing. One of the latest news regarding the more powerful of the two concerns the hardware sector. For some time there had been rumors of the existence of a proprietary processor made by Google: the first news to this effect dates back to April last year. But today the team of 9to5Google seems to be sure: Whitechapel (this is the name of the SoC) will be integrated on the smartphone. Let's go see what else we know about him.

Pixel 6 seems to have no secrets: the processor will be the much talked about Whitechapel, self-produced SoC with the Google name

The code name of the Google Pixel 6 processor will be Whitechapel (the factory name will instead be GS101) and appears to be jointly developed by the parent company and Samsung. According to the documentation displayed by 9to5Google, this fall's Pixel phones will actually be powered by Google's Whitechapel platform. Basically it will not only be the sixth child to be equipped with the proprietary SoC, but also the others. It is thought the 5th alsoand, but nothing for sure.

The situation becomes more complicated if we look at the technical data. The names are many, the abbreviations as well, but in essence the story is this: in the documentation, the team found that the data refer to a certain "slider"Which, going through other documents, seems to lead back to Samsung. From the references, it appears that Whitechapel was developed with the SLSI division (System Large Scale Integration) by Samsung, which means that the chips of Google will have some points in common with Exynos, including software components.
