Qualcomm "presents" Snapdragon 780G 5G, its second SoC with 5nm construction process: we knew it as Snapdragon 775G
Qualcomm will today officially unveil its second 5G SoC for smartphones to use a lithographic process 5nm. His name is Snapdragon 780G 5G. The novelty combines a number of features of Snapdragon 888, but smartphones based on it will be more convenient. The first smartphone to integrate this processor should be Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G, already certified in China and which will officially debut on 29 March.
The rumors were not wrong about him but only the name was wrong, in fact we called it Snapdragon 775G. Qualcomm prefers eight in the designation of its SoCs this year. The SoC, unlike the Snapdragon 888, did not receive the Arm Cortex-X1 super core, but there are two Cortex-A78 cores high performance with a frequency of 2.4 GHz. In addition to them, we find others six Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 1.8 GHz. The GPU is Adreno 642 with functionality Snapdragon Elite Gaming, updated drivers and 10-bit HDR support.
The SoC configuration includes a XXXUMX Snapdragon modem with a maximum download speed in 5G of 3.3 Gb / s and support for mmWave and Sub-6 GHz bands, as well as SA e NSA. The FastConnect 6900 module implements wireless communication Wi-Fi 6 with a maximum download speed of 3.6 Gbps e Bluetooth 5.2. It is also announced WiFi 6E, but it will not be available on all Snapdragon 780G-based production models. The platform is also equipped with an image processor ISP Spectra 570, which allows recording of 4K video at 60 fps and simultaneous photo shooting by three 28 MP cameras.

Qualcomm promises ready-made devices based on Snapdragon 780G in the second quarter of this year, but the first, as already mentioned above, will be Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G.
