Red Magic, Nubia's gaming smartphone brand, today unveiled the new flagship series, Red Magic 8S Pro, which boasts the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor overclocked to 3,36 GHz and a 6,8-inch AMOLED screen with under-screen camera.

So let's go and see the more premium of the two, the Red Magic 8S Pro +, even if the specifications are identical except for the battery and recharge. The 8S Pro+ is the world's first smartphone to adopt the high-frequency version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, which has one main frequency of 3,36 GHz, higher than that of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (3,09 GHz) and the OnePlus 10 Pro (3,0 GHz). The processor is equipped with a Red Core R2 game chip developed by Red Magic to optimize performance and energy efficiency when gaming.
The 8S Pro+ screen is one of the most advanced on the market, with a fourth generation UDC (Under Display Camera) technology that allows you to hide the 16 MP front camera under the AMOLED screen from 6,8 inches. The screen has an FHD+ resolution (2480 x 1116 pixels), an aspect ratio of 20:9, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a touch sampling rate of 960Hz, 3% DCI-P100 gamut coverage, and △E color accuracy of less than 1.
The rear camera of the Red Magic 8S Pro+ consists of three sensors: a 5MP Samsung GN50 main sensor with f/1.9 aperture and PDAF autofocus, a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 120 degree field of view. The camera supports 4K video recording at 60 fps and 1080p slow motion video recording at 480 fps.
The 8S Pro+ battery has a capacity of 5000mAh and supports 165W Magic Flash fast charging via the USB-C interface. According to the manufacturer, the battery can be recharged from zero to 100% in just 17 minutes. The phone also supports the 15W wireless reverse charging to power other compatible devices.
The operating system of the Red Magic 8S Pro+ is the RedMagic OS 8.0 based on Android 13, which offers various functions dedicated to gamers, such as Game Space, Game Boost, Game Mode and Game Dock. The phone also has two capacitive touch triggers on the right edge, which can be customized for different games.
The design of the Red Magic 8S Pro+ is characterized by a metal body with a matte finish and three RGB light strips on the back, which can change color and brightness based on notifications or games. The phone also has a internal fan that spins up to 20.000 rpm to cool the processor and other components. The Magic Cooling ICE 12 cooling system also includes a through-flow air duct, ice level dual pump VC heat sink, graphene under screen, and superconducting copper foil.

The Red Magic 8S Pro+ supports WiFi7 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and HBS (High Bandwidth Streaming) networks. It also has a dual nano-SIM card slot, a stereo speaker with Dolby Atmos, a 3,5 mm audio jack and a fingerprint sensor on the right side.
The Red Magic 8S Pro+ will be available in two color variants: black and blue. Memory and storage options are as follows: 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 18GB + 1TB.
Turning to Red Magic 8S Pro, the smartphone has the same features as the Pro+ model, except for the battery, which has a capacity of 6000 mAh and supports 80W fast charging, and for memory and storage options, which are limited to 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB.
Finally, as for the colors, Red Magic 8S Pro+ has three options: Deuterium Front Transparent/Dark Knight/Frozen Silver Wing.
