Chinese blogger Wisdom Pikachu broke the news this morning that this year Redmi will bring a new phone equipped with a 210W second generation charging technology.
New Redmi with 210W charging arriving by the end of the year
Previously, the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition it was the first to mass-produce and commercialize the 210W charging technology and dropped the charging time to single digits. In fact, they just need it 9 minutes to recharge the device from 0 to 100%.
It is reported that the second generation of Redmi 210W charging technology uses a 3-way IC architecture. The input terminal of 210W will be divided into 3 channels, and the voltage and current of each channel are respectively 20V 3,5A. After that, the voltage and current of each channel will be reduced to 10V 7A each via 3 charging ICs respectively, then the 3 channels will be combined to 10V 21A, and finally passed through the two batteries. By dividing the voltage, the two batteries respectively carry the charge voltage and current of 5V 21A.
The three charging integrated circuits are arranged in a dispersed manner, avoiding heat concentration, and can maximize the life of high-power charging. At the same time, the conversion efficiency reaches 98,6%. There peak power of a single chip is 100W and the upper limit of the total power is 300W.
As for the battery, Redmi has also optimized and upgraded, using a 10C high rate dual cell battery with a capacity of 2*2150mAh, and the input current of each cell is up to 21000mA. Cell Balance technology is also introduced between the double cells. When a voltage/capacity difference is detected between two cells, the internal balancing circuit will be activated to balance it out.
The inside of the charger also adopts a advanced fill thermal immersion technology, so that the charger can work stably at high power for a longer period of time.
Finally, the charging cable has a custom E-mark chip, which not only supports Xiaomi's 210W fast charging protocol identification, but is also compatible with PD and QC protocols.
