According to Strategy Analytics' latest market research, the Samsung Galaxy A51 was the world's best-selling Android device in the first quarter of 2020, with 6 million units shipped and a market share of over 2 percent. While Xiaomi's Redmi 8 is the second most popular Android smartphone in the world, with a market share of 1,9%.
The Redmi 8 has seen a huge success especially in countries like China and India, but has also made a name for itself in Europe. On the other hand, you can't become the second best-selling smartphone in the world if you don't do well in the old continent.
For those who have forgotten it, remember that the Redmi 8 is the latest entry-level device of the Xiaomi brand. The smartphone arrives with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 as a processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
The device also adopts a 6,22-inch diagonal display, HD + resolution and rounded top notch. The screen is then covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 as well as in the back available in three colors: Sapphire Blue, Onyx Black and Ruby Red.
Also in the back we find a fingerprint reader and two cameras. Among these we have the sensor that Xiaomi claims is at the levels of those present in the flagships (and in fact it was on the Pocophone F1), or the 363MP Sony IMX12 with focal aperture f / 1.8. While the secondary camera has a resolution of 2MP and is used to take photos with the bokeh effect (object in focus, background blurred).
Finally, the autonomy is one of the best thanks to a 5000mAh battery and support for fast charging at 18W (Quick Charge 3.0) through the modern USB Type-C port. Other specifications include the 3,5mm audio jack, support for FM radio and an infrared ray emitter.
