With the Redmi K30 already having its six months since its launch (it was unveiled in December 2019), the Chinese brand now seems ready to launch its successor. As you may have already guessed from the title, the smartphone will come with the name of Redmi K40, therefore following the typical naming scheme of recent years.
New certified Redmi phone, there is already air of Redmi K40
The new device would have been caught on the 3C Chinese certification site with the model name "M2006J10C". The device would then be equipped with a 33 W fast charge (specifically 11 V / 3 A) and the same charger as the Redmi K30 Pro would arrive.
As anticipated previously, according to Chinese media this terminal would be part of the Redmi K series. So strictly speaking it is the Redmi K40, as we already have the Redmi K30 and K30 Pro.
As for the other specifications, the rumors from China suggest that to power the smartphone we will find a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ as a chipset, or the flagship of the MediaTek house for this 2020.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ adopts the Cortex A77 architecture for the first time on a chip with integrated 5G. The processor is then equipped with the best 5G technology in the world, with support for the 5G dual mode network SA and NSA and is also the first chip that supports the dual mode 5G + 5G dual standby with 5G dual carrier aggregation technology. So a chip that will offer a very quick experience both in terms of performance and connectivity.
The smartphone could then use a display with a high refresh rate as in the previous generation. The Redmi K30 used in fact a 120Hz LCD screen and why not, Redmi could also surprise everyone with a display with an incredible 144Hz refresh rate.
In any case, the Redmi K40 could become a really interesting option in the medium-high range, much more intriguing than the K30 which was instead equipped with a Snapdragon 730G. Finally, the price will always be around 2000 Yuan, or 250 euros at the current exchange rate.
