Recently, the general manager of the Redmi brand, Lu Weibing, hinted on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) that the K40 universe could also include a model equipped with a new processor. This new model should arrive under the name of Redmi K40 Light Luxury Edition.
Redmi K40 Light Luxury Edition coming with Dimensity 1100 starting from 1500 yuan (190 €)
Previously, the Light Luxury Edition of the Redmi K40 was reported to be the device that was previously leaked online alongside the Gaming version of the K40. Both were equipped with the same 5000mAh battery and the same 67W flagship fast charging.
Well, this afternoon, a Chinese blogger unveiled some details on what the next Redmi K40 Light Luxury Edition should be. In particular it revealed its benchmark score on the Master Lu platform. This benchmark showed us that the smartphone will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 processor, 8 GB of memory and a 2400 * 1080 resolution display.
As we learned earlier, the Dimensity 1100 processor is built with a new 6nm EUV manufacturing process, and uses 4 * 2.6GHz A78 + 4 * 2.0GHz A55 eight-core architecture, while the GPU is a Mali- G77 MC9. The overall performance gap with the Dimensity 1200 isn't large, but it can bring greater price benefits.
In any case, judging by current news, the Light Luxury version of the Redmi K40 will be more similar to the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition than the base Redmi K40. The appearance is therefore expected to be completely identical to that of the gaming phone, with the front also using a perforated screen in the center with COP process, the border around the screen is extremely thin and the only difference is that the SoC is changed with the Dimensity 1100.
So, given that the Redmi K40 Light Luxury Edition will have a less expensive chipset, the total price will be clearly lower. If we go to see the previous pricing strategy of the Gaming Edition of the Redmi K40, the Light Luxury version could lower the price to 1500 yuan, about 190 euros at the current exchange rate.
