Redmi Turbo 3 stripped bare: video teardown of the new economic flagship

Redmi Turbo 3 stripped bare: video teardown of the new economic flagship

The curiosity around this device was further fueled by a teardown video made by Weki Home, which offers a detailed but quick look at the internal components of the Turbo 3. The video, originally in Chinese, can be followed with English subtitles, making it accessible to an international audience.

The teardown begins with the removal of the rear plastic cover, and then proceeds step by step to explore the various components. Among these stand out the cameras, the battery, the NFC coil, the upper speaker, the circular LED flash, the motherboard, the SoC, the infrared emitter, the microphones, the LPDDR5X RAM, the UFS 4.0 ROM, the Surge P2 charging developed by Xiaomi, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module, the ambient light sensor, the auxiliary board and the bottom speaker, the USB port, the linear vibration motor on the X-axis and, finally, the protected screen from Gorilla Glass Victus and the vapor chamber that keeps the device cool.

A peculiarity of the Redmi Turbo 3 is the "boost chip", a component that comes into play when the battery voltage drops below a certain level, still allowing the screen to be turned on to make the most of the residual energy. This system is more effective the lower the ambient temperature.

Although the Redmi Turbo 3 was launched exclusively on the Chinese market, it would not surprise us to see it soon marketed internationally under the brand Poco. In fact, there are rumors that it might be renamed Poco F6 for its debut beyond national borders.

Redmi Turbo 3

This device represents a significant step forward for Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi, consolidating their position in the high-end smartphone market. It remains to be seen if and when the Turbo 3 will enter global markets, but one thing is certain: the wait will be feverish.
