The worst proximity sensor of all will arrive for many more smartphones

Let's get ready: apparently the proximity sensor by Elliptic Labs mounted on smartphones Xiaomi it's coming for everyone. Users who use a smartphone of the brand will certainly be aware of problems the sensor has. Many of the company's devices, when brought close to the ear, do not turn off when they should. The problem, however, is not entirely Xiaom'sthe. In part yes, but in part it depends on the manufacturer of the sensors which is Elliptic Labs. The company, has from poco confirmed one historic partnership with Cirrus Logic. What does it mean? The disaster!

Elliptic Labs' proximity sensor will be integrated into the amplifiers and audio capsules of Cirrus Logic, the largest distributor in the world

According to one statement (via D Day) the solution of "virtual" proximity sensor (and not optical) by Elliptic Labs will be integrated into Cirrus Logic's ear caps and amplifiers. What does this mean? As the latter is the world's largest distributor of this component, we can expect Elliptic Labs' harmful technology called Inner Beauty will arrive on more devices.

To recap: they exist two types of proximity sensor, one optical and one digital. While the optical one gives better performance thanks to the infrared reader, the digital one is full of problems (in short). Elliptic Labs uses the latter of the two and this can only lead to damage in terms of usability of our devices. In general the technology also works, the problem is that the detection is fallacious and not as accurate as the optical one.

Inner Beauty technology, according to the Norwegian company "is the world's first software-based solution capable of matching and exceeding hardware performance, eliminating the need for dedicated optical sensors as well as the unsightly holes and thick bezels that these sensors require to function". We await news from individual telephony brands.
