TCL announced the development of a new energy saving technology for LTPO screens that avoids flickering when changing frequencies. The manufacturer reports that such a display can consume the 5-15% less energy. A great result considering that, compared to the first generation, LTPO 2.0 consume about 15% less. This goes hand in hand with the 5000 mAh batteries that we are starting to find even on the top of the range.

TCL's new LTPO screen supports refresh rates in the 1-144 Hz range. For example, when browsing WeChat, it uses a frequency of 144 Hz, when sending a voice message go to 30 Hz and when you type quickly, it reconfigures to a frequency of 60 Hz. In addition, the display is equipped with direct frequency conversion and light gathering technology: the display frequency changes more quickly and smoothly, eliminating flicker and improving energy savings.
The manufacturer claims that such screens will consume 5-15% less energy, but in general the savings can reach 20%. Best news of all: the technology in question is ready for use. The future production line will be able to produce further one million panels a year, equal to 13% of world demand.
