Il We Ecosystem (o MiJia) has expanded in recent years, seeing the appearance of many new components within the family of Xiaomi brand products, including the first product recently introduced with the new MiJia brand, IHR Rice Cocker | Mi Ecosystem and the first MiJia brand product |. Today, we will talk about a component of this vast "ecosystem" presented two weeks ago along with two other products, namely Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Speaker (canon) | Xiaomi Mi Router 3, Mi Water Purifier 2 and Me Bluetooth Speaker Official |.
The sales package resembles that seen lately with recent Xioami products but with a special difference, that is, a texture that recalls the holes of a speaker that lets you glimpse in the bottom the "Mi". On the back of the packaging we find a sticker with technical data and other data (all in Chinese). Inside, we find the speaker with a gasket with an important function that we will discuss later and a user manual (also in Chinese).
Aesthetically, it very much reflects the design of the previous version, even if, in this case, it turns out to be higher and with a smaller diameter. Change the upper grille of the speaker, which is no longer in perforated plastic but in fabric. Another difference is found in the status LED, which is now no longer represented by a ring that surrounds the entire device but by a single small vertical dash. However, the position of the input for the micro USB port for charging on the back of the device remains unchanged. Finally, the three very uncomfortable function keys in the part below the speaker are no longer present, which are repositioned inside the speaker itself below the upper ring, providing it with a more minimalistic and much more functional appearance.
In fact, now just press the upper ring to turn on / off / start / pause a song and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise to raise or lower the volume. The rubber gasket that separates the upper rotating cylinder from the underlying body can be removed and has a protective function, as it prevents the pressure of the upper cylinder and therefore the involuntary activation of the device in the event that it is placed inside a bag, backpack and so on.
It is built with thermoplastic materials (PC-ABS) known for their strength, so as to provide a solid and long lasting device. Inside it has been inserted a battery from 1200 mAh less widespread compared to its previous version (2000 mAh) but which, however, guarantees an 7 autonomy of continuous playback hours. It also has a bluetooth connection 4.1 low energy consumption (LE) compared to the 4.0 version of the previous model, which justifies the use of a lesser battery to help lower overall weight. Finally, this new version has a unique feature, that is, a built-in microphone for answering / making voice calls.
As for the main function of this device, that is the audio reproduction, essentially both the quality and the maximum volume remain unchanged and what makes this product appreciated most is the possibility of bringing the audio to the maximum without having a crackling audio and of lower quality, which instead happens in similar products from other brands.
